BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Welcomes Exhibit by Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA)

Art Showcases MICA’s International Students, Alumni, and Faculty

Anne Arundel County, MD (August 19, 2009) - Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport) and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) have teamed up to present a new art exhibition, Stories of Home. The artwork, created by MICA’s international students, alumni, and faculty, will be displayed on the upper level of the BWI Marshall Airport International Terminal until November 4.

“BWI Marshall Airport is an important gateway to Maryland and the National Capital region,” said Timothy L. Campbell, Executive Director of the Maryland Aviation Administration. “This new exhibit highlights the international talent and creativity present at MICA and in our region.”

In recent years, a number of sculptures, paintings, and murals have been positioned in BWI Marshall to provide travelers with positive and memorable travel experiences. A rotating arts program has created opportunities to showcase regional artistic and cultural exhibitions. MICA’s Stories of Home is the latest exhibit to be installed at BWI Marshall.
