Anne Arundel County, MD (September 9, 2009) - Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and JetBlue Airways today launched the airline’s new nonstop service. Starting today, JetBlue Airways offers four daily flights between BWI Marshall Airport and Boston’s Logan International Airport.
“The new air service from JetBlue highlights the strength of this market and this region,” said Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley. “BWI Marshall Airport is an important economic engine for the State of Maryland and the entire National Capital region. The addition of JetBlue Airways will strengthen that impact.”
BWI Marshall Airport is the 57th domestic and international destination for JetBlue Airways. The airline is well-known for award-winning customer service, an excellent travel product, and low fares. In 2009, JetBlue was ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among Low-Cost Carriers in North America” by J.D. Power and Associates. The airline will utilize Embraer E190 aircraft with 100 seats on its new route between BWI Marshall and Boston.
“We are pleased to welcome JetBlue Airways to BWI Marshall Airport,” said Timothy L. Campbell, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Maryland Aviation Administration. “This new service to Boston will provide both business and leisure travelers with more travel options, competitive fares, and excellent customer service.”
JetBlue Airways is the second new airline to begin service at BWI Marshall Airport this year. In March, Cape Air began service between BWI Marshall and two regional destinations—Hagerstown and Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
