BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Reports January 2008 Passenger Traffic

Passengers increased 4.3% in January


BWI AIRPORT, MD (March 05, 2008) - Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport today announced that 1,510,391 commercial passengers flew through the Airport in January. That figure was an increase of 4.3% over January 2007.

Southwest Airlines led the way in January with 790,867 passengers for the month, an increase of 4.6% over January 2007. AirTran Airways reported the largest percentage increase in passengers, growing 49.4% over January 2007 to a total of 194,665 for the month.

January 2008 was the second busiest January on record for BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.
