BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Led Nation in February On-Time Arrival Performance

88.8% of Airport’s flights arrived on-time, best in U.S.


According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport led all major U.S. airports in February for on-time arrival of flights. BWI Marshall Airport’s on-time arrival performance for the month of February came to 88.8%.

According to the BTS, airline carriers reported a nationwide on-time arrival rate of 82.6% for February 2009.

“BWI Marshall Airport works with our airline partners and the FAA to be an efficient, convenient airport for travelers,” said Timothy L. Campbell, Executive Director of the Maryland Aviation Administration.

According to the BTS data, BWI Marshall’s on-time departure performance for February 2009 was 83%, eighth best among U.S. airports. The systemwide on-time departure rate for February was 82.7%.
