Recognized with Major Industry Award for Second Time

BWI AIRPORT, MD (March 01, 2007) - The food and retail concessions program at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport has been honored by industry publication Airport Revenue News with the 2007 award for “Best Overall Concessions” in the medium-sized airport category. Airport Revenue News presents awards in an annual competition to showcase top retail and food programs among North American airports.
The 2007 award will be shared by BWI Thurgood Marshall and BAA Maryland, the developer and manager of the Airport’s AIRMALL®. This is the second straight year that BWI Thurgood Marshall and BAA Maryland were recognized with top awards in the Airport Revenue News concessions competition.
“On the heels of the major concessions awards from ARN last year, we are very pleased to be recognized with another prestigious industry award,” said Timothy L. Campbell, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Maryland Aviation Administration. “BWI Thurgood Marshall works very hard to offer a concessions program that provides outstanding service, food, and shopping options to travelers in a world-class airport.”
Campbell added, “I must highlight the good work of our concessions developer, BAA Maryland, and all of the individual operators in the AIRMALL®. They have established an outstanding concessions program that is being recognized again with this prominent award.”
Airport Revenue News is a leading publication for airport executives, concessionaires, and others involved in the aviation industry. The annual concessions awards presented by Airport Revenue News are among the most important and most prestigious in the airport industry.
